Summer Fair on the Square

A fun summer family event is back! The Summer Fair on the Square is this Saturday, August 8. The all day event will feature activities for all ages, and it will benefit local charitable and non-profit groups.

11:00 AM - 4:00 PM:

Activities -
  • German Club - Wheel of Fortune
  • National Honor Society - Balloon popping game
  • Shakespeare on the Edge -
    • ‘Mini Cardboard Boat Regatta’ - build and race your own boat
    • selling Shakespeare Shakers (trick magnets), and handmade mini fairies,
    • Face Painting
  • Washington Reformation Church - bake sale
  • Rainbow Childcare – Bouncy house, inflatable bowling, lasso golf, pictures with hard hat, and other free children games on North small parking lot.
  • MASE - Mini skatepark – SK8 Demonstrations- helmets and waivers.
  • Boy Scouts 101- Wet Sponge Toss – Alderman Mark Coplien, Fred Giese Anchor Bank , Chris Sachs
Food -
  • MHS (Monroe High School) Dance Team - Hot Dogs, Lemonade, Pizza, Snow Cones
  • MHS Girls Swim: – Walking Taco, Water, Pop, Popcorn
Stage entertainment –
  • 1:00 – 1:30 - Shakespeare on the Edge – Perform scenes form Midsummer Nights Dream and The Tempest.
  • 2:00 – 2:30 - Monroe Martial Arts, affiliated with New Glarus Tae Kwon Do - Greg Bowles instructor
  • 2:30 – 3:00 - Humane Society – Dog Obedience demonstration.
  • 3:00 – 3:30 - MHS Dance Team and other times throughout the day.
  • 3:30 – 4:00 - Humane Society – Dog Obedience demonstration.
  • 4:00 PM - Kookaburra's Pie Eating contest – Honorable James Beer, John Bauman-Swiss Colony, Gary Johnson – Big Radio, Alderperson Jan LaFavre

5:00 PM - 8:00 PM:
  • Humane Society Beer Garden
  • Beef Producers Rib Eye Steak Sandwiches
  • Pork Producers Butterfly Pork Chop Sandwiches
  • Live bands - Fedora 5:00 – 6:00
  • Cold Ground / Low Sky 6:00 – 8:00 (In case of rain: Cold Ground/Low Sky will perform inside Baumgartners 8 – 11PM.)

11:00 AM - 8:00 PM:
  • Green County EMS – Demonstration/exhibit
  • Monroe Fire Dept. - Demonstration/exhibit
  • Kutter Harley is advertising a ‘Ride To Monroe’ road trip. The owners of Baumgartners own the lot with community calendar and have opened it up for motorcycle parking that day.
